AND THE BLUE RIBBON GOES TO:

FUSO

FUSO INTRODUCES AN INDUSTRY-FIRST GAS-POWERED CLASS 5 LCF

Just as other manufacturers are racing to keep up, it seems one brand is a step ahead of the rest.

If it were a race, FUSO would have won the blue ribbon for its Class 5 gas-powered LCF: the FUSO FE180 Gas. This truck is designed for power and performance, starting at its core.

AT THE CORE

Resting on 19.5-inch tires, the frame is composed of electro-coated rails that increase overall durability, ensuring the truck is durable enough for tough vocational work from dawn to dusk. The FE180 Gas features a ladder-style frame that is lighter yet 28 percent stronger than the competition. The 40-gallon in-rail fuel tank, which is 10 gallons more than the competition, makes for easier upfits. And lucky for upfitters, the FE180 Gas features the same box sizes, wheelbases, and body attachment capability as diesel trucks. With the FE180 Gas’ GVWR of 17,995 lbs and a payload capacity of 11,885 lbs, you can prepare to upfit to your exact needs.

POWER

FUSO’s gas-powered models feature a powertrain that was strategically designed for smooth power and lower operating costs. The FE180 Gas features a PSI-GMPT 6-L V8 engine that has twice the displacement of diesel options and delivers 297 hp and 361 lb-ft of torque.

The FE180 Gas is equipped with the Allison 1000 Series 6-speed automatic transmission, designed for stop-and-go, steep-grade startability, and low-speed maneuverability—a perfect fit for urban delivery.

The Allison also features FuelSense 2.0 with DynActive Shifting. DynActive technology continually refines each shift using a learning algorithm instead of shifting gears based on a data table of fixed shift points. This provides a balance between performance and fuel efficiency for an operator’s specific duty cycle. The result? A 2 to 6 percent improvement in fuel economy. This technology is standard on all FE180 Gas trucks.

The Allison 1000’s commercial-grade design also features an optional power takeoff (PTO) that can drive a range of vocational accessories such as lift bodies and dispensing pumps.

FASHIONABLY FUNCTIONAL

Spacious. Insulated. Adjustable. Functional. These are just a few words used to describe the interior of the FUSO FE180 Gas. Drivers enter the well-sprung cab using low-entry steps, which along with the dash-mounted shifter and adjustable steering wheel make for easier entrance and exit.

The FUSO FE180 Gas features a heavy-duty driver’s seat that offers adjustable lumbar support. In this cab, FUSO rolled out the red carpet for drivers … or actually, the red seat belt, a brand trademark. The steering wheel is infinitely adjustable, and the dash-mounted shifter gives drivers more control (not to mention more legroom). Instruments are within easy reach, and displays are easy to view.

The cab keeps a comfortable environment with a standard air-conditioning system and superior insulation that preserves heat, cool air, and keeps road noise at bay. Take advantage of multiple storage areas for work documents and tools. The FE180 Gas features storage in an overhead console, sun visor pocket, and floor tray.

The driver-to-ground line of sight is only 6 ft, and paired with a panoramic windshield, drivers have a great view of the road in the cab of a FUSO FE180 Gas. What’s the point in a great view of the road if drivers are constantly distracted with knobs and dials in the cab? The instrument cluster in the FE180 Gas features revised colors for better visibility and are within easy reach of the driver—because of that, let’s add “productive” to that list of descriptions.

FUSO CONNECTION

One of the best ways to keep productivity flowing is through a connected fleet. The FUSO FE180 Gas includes telematics technology from Verizon Connect. The subscription links owners, trucks, and drivers together with access from a smartphone, tablet, desktop, or other connected device.

Verizon Fleet Essential includes benefits such as vehicle diagnostics, driver behavior, and fleet monitoring. Receive reports on driver status, vehicle location, speeding status, and job start times. A complementary one-year subscription is included with a truck purchase.

RACE AHEAD

According to industry data, the demand for gasoline-powered trucks has increased year-over-year. Is your business in need of a gas-powered Class 5? Be one of the first in line to get this truck, because a Class 5 gas-powered LCF is here. And it’s a FUSO FE180 Gas.
