Tmat Products, LLC announced that its Tmat Truck Bed Organizer has been named Best Auto Accessory in the 2026 Popular Mechanics Home Innovation Awards, The recognition highlights Tmat’s approach to truck bed cargo management, combining modular organization, adaptable configurations, and easier access to everyday gear.
The award follows independent hands-on testing by Popular Mechanics Test Editor Paul Smith, who evaluated the Tmat system in his own pickup truck. His experience, documented in a July 2026 product review, highlighted the system’s customizable design, practical functionality, and ability to bring cargo within reach from the tailgate.
At the center of the Tmat system is X-Grid Technology, a modular grid with 800 connection points for repositionable blockers and specialized accessories. Those connection points allow truck owners to configure their cargo space around what they carry, from tools during the workweek to coolers and fishing gear on the weekend. As their needs change, they can rearrange the same system rather than commit to a fixed storage layout.
Unlike fixed drawer systems or permanently installed storage solutions, Tmat offers flexible cargo organization without drilling or permanent vehicle modifications in standard installations. Its slide-out design allows users to bring gear toward the tailgate for easier loading and unloading, reducing the need to climb into the truck bed.
Designed for truck owners who rely on their vehicles for both work and recreation, Tmat provides a customizable approach to cargo management. The system is recommended for covered or enclosed cargo areas and does not replace appropriate cargo tie-downs when required.
“We’re incredibly proud to receive this recognition from Popular Mechanics,” says Kenny Austin, GM of Tmat Products. “Their team put Tmat to work in a real truck, using it the way our customers do. Our goal is to make cargo management simpler and more flexible, and it’s exciting to see that recognized.”
Designed by engineers, manufactured in the USA, and developed around practical cargo management challenges, Tmat continues to expand its dealer, retail, distribution, and international presence.
The company will demonstrate its modular cargo management system at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, November 3 through 6, in West Hall Booth #56153.
