Robert Herjavec, Entrepreneur and Star of Shark Tank, Named Work Truck Show Keynote Speaker

Get tips on resilience, building the will to win, and using challenges as motivation from one of North America’s most recognizable business leaders, Robert Herjavec, at Work Truck Week 2023. The entrepreneur, author, and star of Shark Tank will be the keynote speaker at NTEA Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

Work Truck Week is North America’s largest work truck event. Held at Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, it encompasses The Work Truck Show as well as Green Truck Summit, Ride & Drive, educational conference, and more. Green Truck Summit takes place March 7, educational sessions run March 7–9, and the exhibit hall will open March 8–10. Registration opens in October at NTEA – The Association for the Work Truck Industry produces Work Truck Week.

Like many Work Truck Week attendees, Herjavec is an entrepreneur as well as a successful business leader. Born in Eastern Europe, he escaped communism in the former Yugoslavia and emigrated to Canada. He started out delivering newspapers and waiting tables, then he eventually launched a computer company from his basement. Needless to say, his drive to achieve has led him to create a better life for himself and his family. After building and selling several IT companies, he founded Herjavec Group in 2003; it then quickly became one of the world’s largest, privately held cybersecurity firms.

Herjavec shares his expertise with other entrepreneurs weekly as a leading Shark on ABC’s Emmy Award-winning hit show Shark Tank. On this long-running program, ambitious entrepreneurs pitch a panel of investors known as “Sharks” on investing in their companies. Herjavec also has written three best-selling books: “Driven,” “The Will to Win,” and “You Don’t Have to Be a Shark: Creating Your Own Success.”

“Robert Herjavec draws on his own rags-to-riches experience and substantial business success to inspire others to take risks, take control of their future, and stay true to their visions,” says David Scheitlin, 2023 NTEA Convention chair, and director of operations at Holman. “Work Truck Week attendees are sure to be both entertained and inspired by his stories and insights.”

Additionally, Herjavec’s keynote will be a moderated question-and-answer conversation. It is sure to cover business trends, entrepreneurship, and maybe even some behind-the-scenes anecdotes from Shark Tank.

Tickets for Annual Meeting, sponsored by Ford Pro, will be available for purchase when registration opens in October.

Work Truck Week brings the commercial vehicle industry together annually to see new products, learn from each other, and network. The large exhibit hall includes offerings from all industry segments, including chassis, bodies, aerial devices, snow and ice control equipment, accessories, and components. Further, Green Truck Summit features intensive programs led by industry experts and fleet managers covering electric and other clean energy trends for commercial vehicles and operational insights for vocational truck fleets. NTEA will release a full event schedule in the weeks ahead.
