Ford Transit Cargo Van

LOOK NO FURTHER

Ford Transit

Ford has a way of fitting the bill in any scenario. Whether it’s in a commute from a suburban home to a city office, a trip to the mountains in a recreational vehicle, hauling your relatives’ furniture across town, or upfitting to create the perfect vocational vehicle, if Ford hasn’t lead the pack, it sure has kept up with it.

Ford hit the mark with its Transit Cargo Van, offering a vehicle large enough to carry a company’s tools and equipment while also offering maneuverability similar to a car. There are multiple reasons why the vehicle is so popular among the commercial crowd.

PICK YOUR POWER

Owners have the options of choosing an engine that suits their needs. Three engines are available with the Transit. A 3.2-L I-5 Power Stroke turbo diesel is perfect for applications that require an engine to run multiple hours a day in constant stop-and-go and idling conditions. The direct-injected 3.2-L diesel pumps out 185 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Ford designed the Power Stroke turbo diesel to help give a perfect balance of power and performance and ruggedness and dependability.

The Transit 3.5-L EcoBoost V6 engine features direct injection and turbocharging, generating 310 hp and best-in-class maximum gas torque rating of 400 lb-ft. Ford’s direct injection is designed to grab as much power as possible from each and every drop of fuel. Pairing turbochargers with direct injection produces impressive torque output early in the rpm range.

A 3.7-L Ti-VCT V6 is standard with the Ford Transit, delivering responsive performance with 275 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Ti-VCT features a variable control of valve cam timing that eliminates the need for intake and exhaust valves to open and close at fixed points that compromise performance. Ford also offers an available CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package for alternative fuel conversion.

HIGH STANDARDS

The Transit Cargo Van comes with standard features that are sure to impress. A high-mount rear view camera comes on all medium- and high-roof Transits. A rear cargo door exit handle and rear cargo LED lamp switch are now standard on the cargo van, and vans with sliding doors feature high-strength laminated glass with standard screen mesh added to 60/40 split side cargo doors on vans ordered with glass. D-pillar weld nuts are standard on medium- and high-roof vans.

The cargo van features three 12-volt power points, a 25-gallon fuel tank capacity, a 150-amp alternator, a full-size spare wheel and tire, halogen headlamps, power-adjustable mirrors, power lock doors and windows, remote keyless entry, vinyl floor covering, and a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with overdrive.

Standards in safety and security include three-point safety belts for all seating positions, driver and front passenger airbags that feature the Safety Canopy System, four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock brake system, roll stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system. And, if standard offerings aren’t enough, whatever you need is available.

AVAILABLE PERKS

The Ford Transit Cargo Van has virtually unlimited options to perfectly suit your needs. The Transit is available in three roof heights: low, medium, and high. The high-roof Transit accommodates optimal storage capacity and headroom for easy access to tools and equipment, and available extended-length running boards contribute to easy ingress and egress on any model.

If there are several drivers using the Transit, opt to receive two additional keys for a total of four. Choose a heavy-duty alternator, Bluetooth radio, cruise control, D-pillar assist handles and dual sliding doors on medium- and high-roof models, footwell illumination, Ford Telematics, heated front seats, heavy-duty cargo flooring, high-capacity upfitter switches, and so much more.

Optional safety features include integrated trailer brake control, lane-keeping alert, push-down manual parking brake, reverse sensing system, and a SecuriLock Passive anti-theft system to help keep your cargo safe and sound.

CARGO

The Transit Cargo Van is built for just that—cargo. The Transit features a cargo capacity of 277.7 cu ft in the low-roof model, 357.1 cu ft in the medium-roof model, 404.3 cu ft in the high-roof model, and 487.3 cu ft in the high-roof EL. With a maximum payload of 4,650 lbs and a towing capacity of 7,500 lbs, any job is game.

Upfit your cargo van with shelving and storage options for a perfect on-the-go workshop, or leave your van spacious enough to haul equipment and crew members from jobsite to jobsite. No matter your need or application, Ford’s Transit is a perfect addition to your fleet.
