The all-new Hino COE 155 brings a lot to the table, but with quality, durability, and reliability as the DNA of Hino Trucks’ legendary owner loyalty, it’s no surprise. Specifically designed for the North American market, the Class 4 Hino 155 offers a product design providing performance and reliability in an ergonomically advanced package. Featuring wide pillars and groundbreaking aerodynamics on an all-steel cab, the 155 model sets new standards for comfort and driver safety.
Hino 155’s ergonomically designed interior makes for a versatile mobile workspace and includes two large overhead storage compartments in the cab, along with an additional storage compartment in front of the passenger seat. The 155 model’s Driver Information Display shows real-time fuel consumption, DPR, operation time, percent/current acceleration, and vehicle diagnostic information.
POWER UNDER THE HOOD
With a GVW of 14,500 lbs and GCVW of 20,500 lbs, the Hino 155 needs some power under the hood. With 100 years under its belt, Hino hit the mark with the 5-liter J05E Series engine. The 4-cylinder, 4-cycle in-line turbo diesel engine is water-cooled and uses dry cylinder liner for engine longevity. The common rail, direct injection provided by Denso offers on-demand fuel pressure, reduces exhaust and particulate emissions, and improves fuel efficiency. To top it off, Hino mated the J05E with Aisin’s 6-speed A465 O/D transmission with lock-up torque converter for an ideal partnership.
Putting out 210 hp at 2,500 rpm and 440 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 rpm, the J05E Series engine is made to work. Plus, the Hino 155 promises performance, long-term durability, and low cost operation without sacrificing economy. The combination of the J05E engine, optimized SCR, aerodynamics, and Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission allows the Hino 155 to deliver on fuel economy expectations.
THE INS AND OUTS
The Hino 155 gets around on six steel wheels measuring 17.5 inches x 6.00-127 inches, all-season tires, and features a 138-inch wheelbase with a curb-to-curb turning radius of only 40.03 ft. The Hino 155 also features a 33-inch wide, 56,900-psi frame with a 30-gallon center-mounted rear fuel tank or optional 33-gallon side-mounted fuel tank. Also standard is the 4.7-gallon DEF tank. There are 11 vacant switch blanks for body and equipment use, plus AM/FM radio with CD player. Further offerings include INSIGHT 2.0 telematics system, optional transmission PTO capability, and optional Bluetooth radio.
The cab features a wide door opening for easy entry and exit and a wide range of seat and steering column adjustments to enhance driver comfort. The two-person, fold-down bench seat allows for additional storage space and doubles as a workstation. Narrow A-pillars and large side view mirrors provide superior visibility for added safety.
The Hino 155 enhances driver comfort with a unique magnetic suspension. The 155 also offers ample cab room, designed to accommodate drivers up to six ft, six inches tall. The adjustable driver’s seat uses a reverse polarity magnets suspension system to provide superb comfort; the high back seat is adjustable for rake and recline—and includes an armrest.
BACKED BY HINO
With an industry-best 3-year/unlimited-mile warranty and 5-year/200,000-mile extended warranty, Hino is confident that the 155 model will be up and running for the long haul. Additionally, Hino offers an expanded warranty to cover key components, such as fuel injectors, fuel injection supply pump, and turbo charger.
The Hino 155 model is now eligible for HinoCare, Hino’s new 2-year/60,000-mile preventive service care program. And, with HinoWatch, drivers are covered for three years of roadside assistance anywhere throughout the US and Canada.
