2027 HINO L-SERIES TRUCK

THE RIGHT SIZED COMMERCIAL TRUCK.

For over 40 years, Hino Trucks are known for their engineering, innovation, and performance. For fleets that run Hino trucks, the company has 198 dealerships, 44 parts and service centers, and 54 certified ultimate dealers nationwide for those needing service.

“Since 1984, we have established ourselves as a leading commercial truck brand in the U.S. by combining expertise with innovation. Our commitment to reliability and commercial vehicle performance is demonstrated through our comprehensive dealer network and proven uptime statistics,” says Hino on its website.

The Hino L-Series is built with proven components — Cummins engines, Allison transmissions, Meritor axles, and Dana Spicer driveshafts — all integrated with advanced safety features and customizable configurations to meet the unique needs of every fleet.

HERE COMES THE POWER

The L-series comes equipped with a Cummins B6.7 turbodiesel engine. It outputs 240 to 260 horsepower, and 600 to 660 pounds/feet of torque mated to a six-speed automatic Allison transmission with neutral-at-stop functionality. A variable geometry turbocharger with integrated engine braking enhances performance and control.

Fuel capacity options include a standard single 50-gallon tank, with available upgrades to a single 70- or 90-gallon tank, or dual 50-gallon tanks for extended range. Each L-Series model comes standard with a 7.4-gallon DEF tank, with an optional 15.5-gallon version for fleets requiring longer intervals between fills.

Electrical configurations include two parallel-connected 660 CCA (GR31) batteries as standard, with optional two- or three-battery setups for increased power demands. Alternator choices range from a standard 12V, 130A Delco (brush) unit to optional 12V, 135A (brushless), 160A (brush), or 200A (brush) models.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

The L-Series is available in two cab configurations. The Extended Cab seats up to five and offers three wheelbase options—242, 253, and 301 inches—providing flexibility for a range of applications. The Day Cab seats three and comes in a wide variety of wheelbase sizes, from 152” to 301”,

Two models make up the L-Series lineup: the L6 and L7. Both are equipped with the Cummins B6.7L engine. The L6 pairs with a standard Allison 2200 RDS transmission, while the L7 comes standard with the 2500 RDS. The L6 also offers a 240 hp engine option with the 2200 HS transmission. Optional transmissions for the L6 include the 2500 HS and 2500 RDS, while the L7 offers the 2500 HS, 3000 RDS, and 3000 HS options, ensuring each truck can be tailored for optimal performance.

Braking systems on the L6 feature standard hydraulic disc brakes, with optional Air S-Cam drum or Air disc configurations. The L7 comes standard with Air S-Cam drum brakes.

FULL OF CAPABILITIES

L7 has a GVWR of 33,000 lbs, with weight capacities of 10,000 to 14,000 lbs (for front axle range), and 21,000 to 23,000 lbs (for rear axle range). The L6 has a GVWR of 23,000 to 25,950 lbs, with the weight capacities being 8,000 to 12,000 lbs (front axle range), and 17,500 to 19,000 lbs (for rear axle range). L6 trucks offer a standard 80,000 PSI frame yield strength, with 1.0M RBM, with the L7 having a standard 120,000 PSI frame yield strength with 1.9M RBM.

DRIVER EXPERIENCE

Step inside the L Series and you’ll notice an automotive inspired interior with premium fit and finish. The standard air-ride driver’s seat puts air between you and the rough road and reduces fatigue on long hauls, while the cab offers room for the whole crew. Plus, an optional digital instrument cluster is also available.

SAFETY IN EVERY MILE

Safety starts with a large 2,385 square-inch windshield, a 55-degree wheel cut delivers a great turning radius, and Hino’s optional Safety Suite includes a collision mitigation system with adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning in addition to an antilock brake system and electronic stability control.

Climbing in and out of your truck shouldn’t feel like work. An 80-degree wide opening on doors with low step-in height, deep, slip-resistant steps for secure footing, ergonomic grab handle for safe entry/exit and smart hood design for faster inspections and easier maintenance.

HINO EDGE CONNECTED VEHICLE

Hino Edge, the third generation connected vehicle solution comes standard on all trucks. Synergizing the digital connection between the fleet customer, dealer network, telematics service providers, and Hino Ultimate Support Center. Hino Trucks includes five years of complimentary access to its Hino Edge connected vehicle solution, which provides connectivity features like fleet performance dashboards and vehicle health monitoring through the Hino Ultimate portal and mobile app.
