To maintain OSSE’s Certificate of Recognition, the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC audits organizations annually. The audit takes place at VMAC over several days; it includes interviews and discussions with coworkers as well as supervisors and managers.

Arleigh MacNeill, VMAC safety coordinator, says VMAC’s culture shows dedication to providing resources and prioritizing the health and wellbeing of all coworkers.

“The Safety Pinnacle Sapphire Award recognizes our coworkers’ teamwork, commitment, and innovation towards VMAC’s workplace health and safety management systems and programs,” MacNeill says.

In addition to VMAC’s award and OSSE Certificate of Recognition renewal, it earned the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems certification. The company also earned ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems recertification.
