The 2022 Ram ProMaster

A VAN UPGRADE

Back in March at NTEA’s The Work Truck Show, Ram shared that its ProMaster vans saw a 25% increase in sales in 2021. In a world hurtling toward mobile services at a fast pace, that statistic should come as no surprise. With the popularity of cargo vans increasing, so is their drivability, technology, and capabilities.

When Ram redesigned its ProMaster van for 2022, it had vocational customers in mind. Marketed as the most advanced ProMaster ever, the 2022 edition could be a great complement to businesses, commercial fleets, and construction jobsites.

PROMASTER POWER

The 2022 Ram ProMaster features a 3.6-L Pentastar V6 engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The pairing offers efficiency and capability that includes 250 lb-ft of torque and 276 hp. It features a 4,680-lb maximum payload and a maximum towing capacity of 6,910 lbs.

Ram markets the 2022 ProMaster has having a “forward-thinking system” that includes front-wheel drive, best-in-class lowest load floor height, and a 36-ft turning diameter. These features are great for in-city delivery applications.

Speaking of work applications, the 2022 ProMaster offers multiple configurations for your business needs. It offers two roof heights and four lengths from 8 ft to 13 ft. Its 21-inch load floor height makes operations easier and safer, and its maximum cargo width of 6 ft 3 inches allows ample space for all upfits and equipment.

DRIVER AMENITIES

Ram touts the 2022 ProMaster as having the most technology of any previous model. That technology is centered around a standard 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with the Uconnect 5 system and an available Uconnect 5C NAV with a 10-inch touchscreen with Ram Connect. These systems feature dual smartphone connectivity and multiple personalization options such as profile settings with comfort control. The Uconnect 5C NAV is available with SiriusXM Radio with 360L Technology and Amazon Alexa Skill. And that’s only the infotainment system.

Ram also gave the 2022 ProMaster information cluster an upgrade. The cluster features two new cluster options: an available digital cluster with a 7-inch display or a standard analog cluster with a 3.5-inch display. With the digital display, drivers will experience enhanced features such as Intelligent Speed Assist, Drowsy Driver Detection, Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Pedestrian/Cyclist Emergency Braking, and Oil Change and Traffic Sign Information.

If that sounds like a lot of tech for a commercial vehicle, buckle up. The 2022 ProMaster is available with a Digital Rearview Mirror. It features automatic dimming, and when switched on, an LCD monitor provides real-time video of the rear-facing camera. This feature is helpful for cargo vans with upfits that obscure the back window.

Other driver-centric features include Remote Proximity Keyless Entry that unlocks the van when operators push a button on the door while the key is detected near. Operators can customize this feature to open all doors, passenger doors, or cargo doors. Further, the 2022 ProMaster features a “phone shelf” that houses smart devices. Wireless charging is available with the phone shelf. Operators can also charge their devices through two standard USB ports or an available 115V outlet. Finally, seating options include bucket seats with multiple material options or a cloth bench seat.

SAFETY-CENTERED

Hand-in-hand with the technology available as driver conveniences comes technology for the purpose of safer operations. The 2022 Ram ProMaster features the most available safety and security technology of any ProMaster. It features the available Active Dr

iver Assist System that detects drowsy driving, recognizes traffic signs, assists with speed control, and applies the brakes if necessary.

The 2022 ProMaster also features Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection. The latter helps avoid a collision when in reverse. Other safety technology includes LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist that alerts drivers with a visual cue if the vehicle drifts out of its lane. Bringing safety to the front of the vehicle is a Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking. The system alerts operators with a visual and audible alert when an obstacle is detected in the van’s forward path. Along with the radar safety systems, operators will also get a view of their surroundings with a Surround View Camera. This feature is ideal for parking in tight places.

BUSINESS UPGRADE

Cargo vans can be used in a wide variety of applications. Depending on the needs of a business, the van can act as a transport, a mobile office, and more. Ram’s 2022 ProMaster adds significant upgrades in technology and safety that set the van apart. Upgrading to a 2022 Ram ProMaster for your fleet can improve operator safety, offer more driver conveniences, and lend more room for upfits, equipment, and tools. Upgrade to a 2022 Ram ProMaster and upgrade your business operations.
