MiX Telematics Provides ELD Solution

TELEMATICS IN ACTION

MiX TELEMATICS

Telematics systems: There are more than we can count, and it seems more spring up on a daily basis. Millions of fleet owners and businesses use telematics systems, reaping benefits such as lower fuel costs, asset tracking, etc. But enough fluff. Let’s take a look at a real business using a real telematics system.

A REAL COMPANY

LineStar Integrity Services, based in Pasadena, Texas, provides a suite of solutions that includes corrosion and cathodic protection, coatings, control room operations, GIS, integrity maintenance, measurement and automation, and O&M compliance throughout the midstream value chain.

LineStar employs more than 750 workers and has made strategic strides in areas of concentrated pipeline infrastructure such as the Mid-continent as well as the Eagle Ford, the Gulf Coast industrial corridor, and Permian and Appalachia basins.

LineStar’s existing customer base includes more than 85 clients with long-standing relationships with multiple blue-chip energy companies.

These clients rely on LineStar for services that help manage risk, properly maintain the integrity of pipeline and midstream facility assets, and enhance safety and environmental practices.

With so many clients relying on LineStar on a daily basis, the company must be sure its operations run as smoothly as possible. That’s where telematics comes into play.

IN THE MiX

More than 714,000 subscribers in more than 120 countries benefit from the services of MiX Telematics. The company’s products and services provide enterprise fleets, small fleets, and consumers with solutions for efficiency, safety, compliance, and security.

Earlier this month, MiX Telematics announced that it will provide LineStar with its ELD solution to help improve the safety, compliance, and efficiency of LineStar’s fleet.

MiX Telematics’ Hours of Service solution is fully ELD-compliant, allowing customers to have peace of mind when choosing the right telematics solution for their fleet. LineStar’s requirements were clear when it came to their ELD requirements: It wanted the capability to switch between DOT and non-DOT for more than half of its trucks as well as improve driver behavior through constructive coaching.

“MiX Telematics’s ELD solution checked all the right boxes for us when it came to choosing a full-featured telematics solution. We’re pleased that 400 of our vehicles will be fitted with MiX’s premium fleet management solution allowing us to focus on our core business,” Jason Carpenter, vice president, EHS&C at LineStar Integrity Services, states.

MORE BENEFITS

In addition to Hours of Service, the solution will also help LineStar improve driver behavior and vehicle efficiency via real-time feedback to the driver. Furthermore, access to powerful and valuable reports and analytics gives LineStar insight into its drivers and fleet operations at all times.

“We’re anticipating compelling improvements to our fleet’s efficiency and driver safety by adopting MiX’s solution and will look to build on this relationship over the years,” Carpenter concludes.

MiX IS A MATCH

“We are proud LineStar has chosen to partner with MiX to help improve the compliance and efficiency of their fleet operations,” Charles Tasker, group chief operating officer at MiX Telematics, says. “We have a number of US customers making the switch to ELD and have built a reputation for making this change easy and effortless. We look forward to doing the same for LineStar.”
