Lou Dreon, policy and procedures supervisor, and Chris Walter, plant manger.

Summit Truck Bodies, a US manufacturer supplying service truck solutions, earned ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system. Summit Truck Bodies certification scope includes design, manufacturing, and assembly of truck bodies at the Wathena, Kansas facility. Lou Dreon, the policy and procedures supervisor at Summit, is responsible for maintaining the NTEA MVP status and achieving the ISO9001 certification.

Regarding the accreditation, Dreon comments, “Obtaining ISO:9001 certification places the company in a very elite category. Summit’s commitment to become and then retain an ISO 9001 certification contributes to increased confidence in the organization and establishes the company at a level above or higher than its competitors. The result is Summit having a competitive advantage over our non-certified competitors, higher customer satisfaction, and the likelihood of increased sales.”

Further, ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized quality management standard developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The certification provides a model for companies to build an effective quality management system. ISO:9001 helps businesses prove their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Additionally, the certification aims to enhance customer satisfaction by applying a company’s quality management system. This includes processes for continual review and improvement.

Finally, this certification reinforces Summit’s commitment to deliver a superior customer experience and develop and maintain successful partnerships. It also reinforces Summit’s commitment to meet needs through a customer-focused buying process, high-quality manufacturing, and exceptional after-sales support.
