TR25 AND TR35 HYDRAULIC PLANETARY WINCHES
Braden TR25 and TR35 hydraulic planetary winches, expanding the TR Series with two new models engineered for the needs of trailer manufacturers, towing and recovery fleets, utility operations, and forestry equipment. A compact, low-profile housing allows each model to fit into tight installation envelopes, while the industry-standard 18-inch mounting bolt pattern ensures the TR25 and TR35 serve as direct replacements for existing hydraulic winches. Both models feature a rugged, highly efficient gear train and a drum supported by low-friction ball bearings to reduce power loss under load. Durable urethane brake seals provide long-lasting protection in abrasive environments, and the oil bath lubrication system simplifies service and extends component life. Operators can choose between manual or air-actuated freespool clutch engagement depending on application needs. TR25 delivers a 25,000 pounds (11,340 kg) rated line pull and is available in short or long drum configurations to match different rope capacity requirements. It accommodates 9/16” (14 millimeters) or 5/8” (16 mm) wire or synthetic rope. The larger TR35 offers a 35,000 lbs (15,876 kg) rated line pull with capacity for 155 ft (47.2 m) of 3/4” (19 mm) wire rope. Both models are fully compliant with SAE J706 winch performance standards.
AUTOCAR
SMART BATTERY CABLE
Autocar, LLC’s Smart Battery Cable is designed to reduce the risk of electrical fires in refuse trucks. Refuse trucks operate in demanding environments where electrical cables are routinely exposed to vibration, abrasion, and contamination. Designed for use in the Autocar ACX, the Smart Battery Cable provides early detection of potential rub through and is engineered to alert the operator via the Autocar “Always Up” display in the event of a short circuit. The operator can then stop the vehicle, preventing thermal buildup and potential ignition. The cable is used in conjunction with a vehicle crank interlock to ensure the truck engine cannot be started again without an operator’s permission after an inspection and/or repairs. Autocar is equipping select configurations of the ACX with the technology, with the goal of making the equipment standard across all configurations by 2027.
RETRAC
VOLVO VNL GRILLE GUARDS
RETRAC, a subsidiary of Lippert Components, Inc., released brand new Tuff Guard XT and ProTec EDGE XT grille guards compatible with the redesigned Volvo VNL truck (2025 and newer). Compatible with VORAD systems and fog lights, RETRAC grille guards feature a custom bend designed to match the updated front-end contours of the new Volvo VNL model. RETRAC’s new Volvo grille guard lineup features two premium models. The Tuff Guard XT is available in both a polished stainless-steel finish and a durable black powder coat. The ProTec Edge XT is available in polished stainless steel. A custom MagLatch bracket (sold separately) was developed specifically to mount these new grille guards. MagLatch brackets help reduce downtime thanks to a fold-down mechanism that provides fast, easy engine access.
HILLTIP
EXTENDED-AUGER SPREADERS
Hilltip extended auger models of its AM series combination spreaders are designed for use on interchangeable truck bed systems; the extended auger allows the hopper to be positioned closer to the bulkhead of the truck for better weight distribution. Ranging in size from 2.0 to 4.2 cubic-yard capacities with polyethylene hoppers, the Hilltip AM series spreaders feature six-inch stainless-steel augers for protection against corrosion and rust, and they can be powered by 12- or 24-volt dual motors. The hoppers include a vibrator and inverted-V to help maximize material flow. AM series machines have integral liquid tanks ranging in capacity from 220 to 250 gallons. Pre-wetting nozzles, a dual spray bar, and hose reel with hand-held spray nozzle can be added for pre-wetting, anti-icing and de-icing applications. An extended auger is available as a retrofit kit for older spreader models. Customers can unbolt the existing auger trough and install the new kit using the same holes.
