I spent a few weeks in these boots (my rather large feet attest to the true to fit men’s size 10). Comfortable and supportive—with both arch and ankle support—the 814-4200 had virtually no break-in period. From day one, they felt good on the feet. The laces come undone fairly easily and the top of the boot rubs at the skin; however, these minor issues can be avoided by double-knotting the laces and wearing thick socks. The pros far outweigh the cons with the 814-4200. It’s a boot worth trying out for yourself.

BACKSAFE SYSTEMS
Guardian
BackSafe Systems manufactures the Guardian, a communication tool for backing trucks with limited visibility, which is comprised of a dash-mounted display screen, charger base, and handset. The spotter, who controls the handset, positions him/herself in a safe spot that offers a complete view of the rear of the truck. When it’s safe for backing, the spotter squeezes the handset’s trigger—sending a “SAFE” signal to the cab display—then simply lets go of the trigger in order to send the “STOP” signal to the driver.
