A donated Kenworth T880 truck sold during the Concrete Industry Management annual auction will contribute to the CIM educational program. This is thanks to Kenworth, Alliance Concrete Pumps, Papé Kenworth, as well as other Kenworth supplier partners.
East Coast Concrete Pumping, a residential and commercial concrete pumping company based in Taylors, South Carolina, purchased the truck.
“We’re happy to have the opportunity to add a new Kenworth concrete pump truck to our fleet while, at the same time, support CIM through this auction,” says Brian Forcier, East Coast Concrete Pumping partner. “CIM’s educational program does a tremendous job at providing the next generation of professionals in the concrete industry with the skills they need to succeed. We appreciate Kenworth, Papé Kenworth, and Alliance Concrete Pump’s donation to CIM. It means a lot to have them support our industry.”
The donated Kenworth T880 features a PACCAR MX-13 engine rated at 455 hp as well as 1,650 lb-ft of torque. It also features a truck-mounted Alliance Concrete Pumps JXLZ 38-meter boom pump. Other contributing suppliers for this truck include Alcoa, Allison Transmission, Bridgestone, Meritor, and Neway.
“Papé Kenworth is honored to support CIM and its students through this auction,” says Dave Laird, Papé Kenworth president. “Programs like CIM are critical in educating future leaders in concrete and construction industries and play an important role in building America’s infrastructure.”
“Educational programs such as CIM’s pave the way to new and innovative ideas, making the industry stronger,” says Clayton White, Alliance Concrete Pumps president and CEO. “We are pleased to have partnered with Papé Kenworth and make a donation to assist in the CIM fundraising effort.”
Additionally, auction proceeds support the CIM educational program and fund scholarships for students pursuing a degree in Concrete Industry Management. Scholarships are available for students pursuing degrees at Middle Tennessee State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Texas State University, California State University – Chico, and South Dakota State University.
Jim Walenczak, Kenworth assistant general manager for sales and marketing, thanks East Coast Concrete Pumping for purchasing the truck. He says education is key to a stronger workforce, and Kenworth appreciates the opportunity to assist CIM in furthering education.
