Kenworth to Showcase Six Work Trucks at the Work Truck Show

Kenworth K270E Battery Electric Vehicle with Supreme Box Van

Kenworth Truck Company will feature its lineup of medium- and heavy-duty work trucks at The Work Truck Show. Kenworth will also offer the latest information and spec’ing options for its vocational trucks in its booth (#1401).

The lineup is led by the Kenworth K270E battery electric vehicle equipped with a 26-ft Supreme box van. The zero-emissions K270E cabover features two 750-volt lithium ion battery packs. These batteries can be recharged in about an hour using the vehicle’s DC fast-charging system. This makes the Class 6 Kenworth K270E—and the Class 7 Kenworth K370E cabover—ideal for local pickup and delivery, as well as short regional-haul operations.

The Kenworth K270E cabover is equipped with Dana-designed e-Powertrain system that is fully integrated and upfitted to the Kenworth chassis. Configured as a direct drive system, the vehicle uses a Spicer® Electrified™ e-propulsion system and a standard Dana drive axle and driveshaft. Dana also supplies an e-power system, which generates, stores, and manages the energy for the vehicle and consists of electrified auxiliary systems, an on-board charger, and two battery packs. Dana-developed software and controls enable the diagnostics and telemetry of the complete system.
