AUCTION SALE OF MIXER PRODUCED $250,000 FOR LEADING CHARITIES

The Soto Ready Mix, Inc., Kenworth T880S Mixer

Kenworth Truck Company, Con-Tech® Manufacturing, and Kenworth of South Florida will exhibit a charity Kenworth T880S at World of Concrete. The 2022 World of Concrete is January 18-20 in Las Vegas. Con-Tech Manufacturing, Inc, will display the T880S mixer in its booth (West Hall W3964) during the show.

Soto Ready Mix (Sylmar, California) purchased the T880S and Con-Tech BridgeKing® mixer and chassis package with a $250,000 bid. Sale proceeds went to Con-Tech-designated charities: Ronald McDonald House® of Rochester, Minnesota, Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Minnesota, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Wounded Warrior Project®. As a result, each charity received a donation of $62,500 to support their missions.

HELPING CHILDREN & VETERANS

“The auction offered a great opportunity to buy an excellent T880S mixer and see the purchase price dollars go directly to help children and veterans in a significant way through the special organizations chosen by Con-Tech,” says Gilberto Soto, CEO of Soto Ready Mix, Inc. “It’s an honor to exhibit this truck at World of Concrete. We look forward to putting this special truck into service.”

Dan Welsh, Con-Tech Manufacturing president, presents one of the checks to staff representing Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, Minnesota.

“This important fundraising project produced a tremendous donation that benefits the work of Ronald McDonald House, Make-A-Wish, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the Wounded Warrior Project—all agencies close to our heart at Con-Tech,” says Dan Welsh, president of Con-Tech Manufacturing in Dodge Center, Minnesota. “Thanks to Soto Ready Mix for the purchase that helped make this possible.”

“It was very gratifying to be involved in this special project and assist these four outstanding organizations with excellent financial support,” says Eric Johns, Kenworth of South Florida vice president and co-dealer principal in Fort Lauderdale.

“The $250,000 donation for these exceptional charities resulted from an outstanding industry effort by Kenworth, Con-Tech Manufacturing, and Kenworth of South Florida, along with our other valued supplier partners,” says Jim Walenzcak, Kenworth assistant general manager for sales and marketing.

Other supplier partners for the T880S charity truck include Allison (4500RDS 6-speed automatic transmission), Alcoa (front wheels), and Bridgestone (tires). Further, the T880S features a PACCAR MX-11 engine rated at 430 hp and 1,550 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the Kenworth T880S with set-forward front axle is the go-to configuration for mixer customers with federal bridge formula requirements.
