Charge on the Go

Charge on the go

I don’t know about you, but it seems I’m always on the go. Very rarely do I allow myself time for a little R&R or even a full eight hours of sleep. And as much as it pains me to say, my cell phone is always right there with me. I never want to miss a call, and I’m constantly checking my emails. (Yikes! It really does hurt to admit.) When my phone runs as much as I do, I need its battery charged and available at all times—be it at the airport, covering a story out in the field, or even in line at the grocery store.

With so much of our world going digital, chances are you rely on your cell phone or tablet to get you through the workday. Car chargers are a must for smooth operations, but some work doesn’t allow for much time in spent in the cab. That’s when you need a portable power bank that actually holds up longer than two weeks. The ChargeHubGO+ turned out to be just what I needed.

WHAT IS IT?

ChargeHubGO+ is a power bank with wireless charging capabilities as well as built-in charging cables: one Type-C cable and one reversible Micro/Lightning cable to charge iPhones and iPads and any Micro USB device. It also features a regular USB port for other devices or to use your own cable.

The ChargeHubGO+ pumps out 5,000 mAh of power with 5W of wireless charging, giving 15W of total power. It has a one-year limited warranty and features patented SmartSpeed Technology that provides the fastest possible charge for your devices. The power bank has also undergone stringent testing to secure multiple product quality, safety, and durability certifications such as CE Certified, tested to comply with FCC Standard Part 15, and RoHS Compliant. The ChargeHubGO+ weighs only 1 lb.

I TRIED IT

I wouldn’t say I was exactly thrilled when I found out I was reviewing a power bank, but that was only because I thought it’d be your generic, run-of-the-mill power bank. I changed my tune a little upon discovering that I don’t have to provide my own charging cable during use. As the device offers charging capabilities for multiple devices, I had no trouble charging my phone or Bluetooth devices (although it would never charge my iPad). My phone doesn’t have wireless charging capabilities, but my friend’s phone does, as well as a Type-C, and the ChargeHubGO+ worked great to charge using both features.

The battery truly is high-capacity. I was able to charge my iPhone from 20 percent to 100 percent two times without recharging the ChargeHubGO+. The power bank is also durable, as it withstood the deepest, darkest depths of my work bag. It also features a sleek, matte design that, from what I’ve seen, resists dirt and scratches. The charging cables connected to the device are sturdy and fit snugly into my devices—all except for the iPad; go figure.

TAKEAWAY

The first time I ever had a friend tell me about a power bank, the first thing they said was: “They’re so cheap. They won’t last more than two weeks. But I use them so much that I have to buy them.” I later got my own power bank and found her statement to be 100 percent true.

I’ve gone through many power banks in my professional life, but honestly, this is the first I’m excited about. It features an attractive design, is small enough to fit in my back pocket or my purse, it’s durable and reliable, and most importantly, it does a great job charging my devices. Would I buy this? At it’s $40 price tag, I would be skeptical. But after seeing the product and trying it out firsthand, I know I’ll get my money’s worth. Not to mention it comes with a limited one-year warranty. Say goodbye to shopping for a new power bank before every trip. And say hello to your new favorite gadget! Find the ChargeHubGO+ at www.limitlessinnovations.com.
