Fontaine Modification Establishes GM Bailment Pool to Provide Ready-to-Work Chevrolet Medium-Duty Trucks to Dealers

GM approves Fontaine Modification’s Springfield, Ohio, location for a bailment pool. The pool will make it efficient for dealers to order work-ready Chevrolet trucks complete with upfit bodies and equipment.

GM approves Fontaine Modification’s Springfield, Ohio, location for a bailment pool. This approval is part of the General Motors Fleet Specialty Vehicle Manufacturer program. The pool will make it efficient to order work-ready Chevrolet trucks complete with a variety of upfit bodies and equipment. Truck models include Low Cab Forward, Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD.

Fontaine’s Springfield facility is near the plant where GM builds the chassis. This allows the trucks to remain in the factory delivery system during their time at Fontaine and through delivery. Dealers can choose the chassis, body, and equipment their customers want and have the finished trucks delivered as needed. As a result, the process minimizes the costs of stocking, shipping, and extended lead time.
