YEAR AT A GLANCE

We dubbed 2018 as the year of innovation in the work truck industry. Several new work trucks were introduced this year, and we covered them. Chevrolet brought you its first-ever Class 4, 5, and 6 chassis cab, International debuted its CV Series and MV Series, Hino ushered in the XL Series, BYD is bringing heavy-duty electrics to the market, and Kenworth’s recently-introduced W990 could become the new standard in heavy-duty trucks. So where do we go from here?

The future is uncertain, but one thing is for sure—we’ll be here to keep you in the know for all things work truck.

LOOKING AHEAD

What’s in store for Outside the Cab? When we first began this column, our idea was to print anything an owner/operator of a work truck fleet would be interested in reading. Our product reviews became so popular that we reviewed most products that came our way. Don’t worry. We plan to review plenty of products for you this year, but we want to spice things up a bit.

Moving forward, we’ll feature more pieces about readers like you, hot trends in the industry, and advice from the experts.

WHAT’S THE WORD

We’d like to see and hear more from YOU. Yes, you—the one flipping through the pages of this issue with one hand and holding on your lunch with the other. Or you—the one reading this issue on your tablet in bed after a long day at work.

Are there products you’d like to see reviewed? Is there a problem your fleet continues to encounter no matter what solution you throw its way? Do you simply want to show off before and after images of your work truck upfits? Let us track down the answers to your questions, and let us help you show off that incredible truck. Give us a shout through our social channels or through email.

We’re looking forward to enjoying a great year with you. Happy New Year from all of us here at Modern WorkTruck Solutions magazine!
